Robin’s journey has been unconventional. Her eclectic positions have included owning her own clothing store and working in education reform. In 1985, she attended Harvard Divinity School and in 1986, the Masters Level clinical social work program at Boston College. She graduated from Boston College Graduate School of Management with an MBA in 1988.
After serving as an organizational development consultant and trainer for large and mid-sized companies for 8 years, Robin left the corporate world. She co-authored Sacred Circles: A Guide to Creating Your Own Women’s Spirituality Group (Harper San Francisco, 1998), and went on to be certified in iRest yoga nidra meditation, as well as becoming a certified yoga teacher. One of the founders of the Sacred Circles Women's Spirituality events at Washington National Cathedral, Robin helped organize and often led workshops at these large gatherings for over 12 years. Robin particularly enjoys co-leading annual women's winter retreats in sunny places like Belize and Costa Rica. She has taught nationally and internationally for the past 15 years.
Since 2006, Robin has served as the yoga and iRest yoga nidra meditation instructor for a multi-disciplinary PTSD treatment program funded by DOD, and was the lead instructor in the first Dept of Defense feasibility study of yoga nidra meditation for PTSD symptoms. Her work with the courageous and inspiring wounded warriors returning from deployments in Afghanistan and Iraq has sparked an intense passion in her for bridging the gap between the worlds of yoga and the realm of military healthcare. Robin is the president of Yoga Corps, LLC, an organization dedicated to outstanding training and preparation of yoga teachers, and other complementary medicine practitioners, to care for America's warriors.
Robin is married, lives in Silver Spring, MD and is so happy to be the grandmother of Skyler, now 6 years old.
